We are recruiting for the 2024 season in September-October 2023 you can register your interest here.
Our team meets for and introduction afternoon and 5 training Sundays during offseason. CAD and programming will be done online . During build season, a schedule will be given out detailing exactly how often we will be meeting around 5 times a week. All preliminary dates are in the team calendar.
We meet in our workshop located in the J04 Rose Street Building, Australian Centre of Field Robotic, Faculty of Engineering in The University of Sydney.
We are registered for the Southern Cross Regional. funding and student interest dependent, we are also looking at potential international regionals.
Build season starts around early January and finishes around the end of February. During this time, the team designs and builds the robot for the upcoming competition, which is usually in mid-March.
Off-season is before build season. During the off-season, we recruit and teach rookies the skills they will need, and we work on long-term projects.
No experience is required to join but a passion for learning and a curious mind is essential. If you do have some experience in programming, mechanical skills or project management then it will help you even more.
The mentors are responsible for all of the activities directly related to the running of the team
We need parents help with securing further sponsors, helping to provide transport for team members (and the robot!) to events, organising lunches and dinners during competition, organising trips to overseas regionals, or bringing in a meal for the team during Build Season. If you think you can help us, please contact one of the mentors.
